21. Confidential explanation of Lord Jagannath's form
Confidential explanation of Lord Jagannath's form:
A more confidential explanation is that the form of Jagannatha is the embodiment of Krsna's love for Srimati RÀdhÀrÀni. The manifestation of the topmost sentiments of love is called "mahabhava". When Krsna was in Dvaraka he was feeling intense separation from RÀdha. In the ecstasy of mahabhava; His eyes became dilated and His hands and legs shrunk into His body like a tortoise. Therefore the form of Jagannatha is also known as "mahabhava-prakaƥa". Because Jagannatha is feeling such separation from RÀdhÀ; He is "rà dha-viraha-vidhura"-the embodiment of separation from Radha.
Caitanya Mahaprabhu is Krsna Himself, but He has come to taste the emotions of RĂ€dhĂ€rĂ€Ći-rĂ€dhĂ€-bhava-dyuti- suvalitam naumi káčáčŁáča-svarĂŒpam.
Therefore Mahaprabhu is the embodiment of the feelings of separation from KáčáčŁáča-káčáčŁáča-viraha-vidhura.
Srila Goura Govinda MahÀrÀja has described:
Mahaprabhu is feeling the pangs of separation from Krsna and always crying, rorudhya mana. Gaura is crying for Krsna and Jagannatha is crying for Radha. Two crying forms are there in Jagannatha KáčŁetra. Therefore that káčŁetra is known as "Vipralambha-káčŁetra", crying ksetra. Krsna viraha-vidura and radha-viraha-vidhura. Two viraha-vidhuras meet together in Purusottama Ksetra.
So we should understand who is Gaura, who is Jagannatha, and the strange meeting between these two... Gaura is crying for Krsna and Jagannatha is crying for RÀdhÀ. Two are crying in the ecstatic mood of mahabhava.
